Hillary Mahoney Beowulf Question #1

The mead-hall Heorot is a prominent location in the plot of Beowulf. It is where all the attacks and, subsequently, deaths took place. But the Danes still inhabit it. Clearly it is important or they would have abandoned it to save lives. Why do you think they remained there through all the hardships?
